This book was released in 1976 then as an extensive rewrite, in 1989.
Although not specifically about vacform models, they contain many of the essential techniques that are needed to build one.

John Burns
A reference book from 1986 in which there is a comprehensive list of vacform companies and the kits they produced.
John Burns also produced a quarterly magazine named Vac News at around the same time.
