Lockheed Electra 10A

Execuform

The Electra is one of the classic line of twin engined civil aircraft produced by Lockheed during the 1930s and 40s. An aircraft of this type was flown by Amelia Earhart in 1937 for her unsuccessful around the world flight.

The model is shown in markings of the Spanish Nationalist air force having been captured from the Republican air force.

The XB-51 first flew in 1949. Unusually, it was powered by three engines. It also had variable incidence wings and a rotating bomb bay.  It was evaluated but the contract was won instead by the Canberra.
